In the last quarter, Work for Warriors Mississippi has been busy connecting with service members, veterans, and military families through a series of impactful events. From sharing ice cream and stories at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, MS, to supporting troops during a Physical Health Assessment at Camp McCain and Camp Shelby, we’ve strengthened our presence across the state. We also participated in the Battle Handoff at Camp Shelby, by helping soldiers transition from military to civilian life by hosting employers from throughout the state, and had the privilege of attending a Stennis Space Tour, where we explored new job opportunities for veterans in cutting-edge industries. These events reflect our continued commitment to serving Mississippi’s military community in meaningful ways.

Exploring New Frontiers: Work for Warriors MS at the Stennis Space Center Tour
On September 18th, Work for Warriors Mississippi (WFWMS) had the incredible opportunity to attend a behind-the-scenes tour of NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center in Bay St. Louis. This exceptional facility, often described as NASA’s “Rocket Propulsion Test Complex,” has played a vital role in advancing space exploration for over five decades.
Our team experienced a fascinating journey through space innovation and technology that left us all in awe of the possibilities for the future.
Bridging Military Skills and Space Innovation
Stennis Space Center’s strong focus on advanced technology and precision mirrors the skill set of many of the veterans we serve at WFWMS. The tour served as a great reminder that careers in aerospace and engineering are highly compatible with military experience. Veterans who thrive in high-pressure, technical environments have the chance to pursue exciting roles in space exploration, and WFWMS is here to help make those connections.
One of our standout Employment Coordinators, Jeffery Isabel, has been actively working with the Stennis Space Center to help veterans secure jobs that utilize their unique military backgrounds. With a focus on aligning veterans’ skills with opportunities in the aerospace industry, Jeffery’s efforts are opening doors for veterans to transition smoothly into technical and engineering roles that demand the same level of discipline and expertise that they honed during their military service.
Future Collaborations on the Horizon
The collaboration between Stennis and Work for Warriors MS highlights our commitment to exploring diverse opportunities for those who have served our country. This tour marked just the beginning of what we hope will be a productive relationship, creating pathways for veterans to bring their unique skills to industries like aerospace, where precision and dedication are highly valued.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to seek out new ways to support our veterans and their families in pursuing exciting and meaningful careers!
