Mike Hemphill of Starkville, MS was born on May 31, 1974. He served for 32 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard after enlisting in January of 1992. Upon completion of Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training, he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 13R, Firefinder Radar Operator. Throughout his career, Mike was also awarded 35M, Radar Repairman. He recently started working with Work For Warriors Mississippi and is excited to give back to service members of the past and present. He helps cover the counties in Northeast Mississippi (region 1).
MSG Hemphill was awarded multiple awards throughout his 32 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard to include: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with 4 oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Gold Hourglass and M Device, NCO Development Ribbon with numeral 4, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, and Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon.
